## Privacy is not one badge

A published privacy policy, secure connection, account setting, billing descriptor, and deletion route each answer a different question. One positive signal does not prove every part of a service is private.

## Check what can be observed publicly

Start with the official privacy policy, terms, support route, cookie controls, secure transport, and any public account-management documentation. Record the date and exact source. Avoid claiming that a private control works unless it was actually inspected under an authorized review workflow.

- Secure HTTPS checkout and account routes
- Clear support and deletion or account-closure path

## Distinguish discretion from data handling

A neutral billing descriptor may reduce what appears on a statement, but it says nothing by itself about data retention, account security, marketing email, or third-party tracking. Likewise, a polished privacy page is evidence that a policy exists, not proof of every operational practice.

## Use your own risk threshold

The right choice depends on how sensitive the purchase is, what device and payment method you use, and whether you can tolerate an uncertain policy. When a material privacy fact is missing, the honest conclusion is that it is not confirmed.
