Source priority
Velvkey gives priority to official product pages, pricing and checkout surfaces, policies published by the reviewed service, and other first-party documentation. Reliable independent sources may provide additional context or help resolve conflicting claims.
Source classes
- Primary sources include official product, pricing, checkout, help, policy, ownership, and affiliate-program materials.
- Direct observations record what a reviewer could verify on a dated public surface without assuming an untested account outcome.
- Independent sources may provide context, discovery leads, or corroboration but do not replace a more authoritative first-party source for a specific claim.
- Unknown or conflicting claims remain qualified, excluded, or reflected in lower confidence rather than being converted into fact.
Dates and freshness
Material observations are associated with a source and observation date whenever practical. Prices, ownership, availability, policies, and product features can change, so readers should confirm current terms at the destination.
Confidence and uncertainty
Missing, stale, or conflicting evidence reduces confidence. Score ranges communicate that uncertainty; they are not guarantees or substitutes for the underlying review.
Citation and excerpt practice
Velvkey identifies useful public sources and observation dates while avoiding long copied passages, private records, unsafe affiliate destinations, and explicit source material. A citation supports the particular claim for which it is offered; it is not an endorsement of the source or a claim that every part of the source was independently verified.
Corrections
Readers and site owners may use the Corrections Policy to identify a disputed fact and provide stronger evidence, then email the request to corrections@velvkey.com. Commercial relationships do not receive a different evidentiary standard.
